Yeah, I suppose West Tacoma is fine. But having grown up there, it’s just Tacoma or South Puget Sound. I haven’t lived there for 20 years, but I’ve literally never heard someone refer to a directional Tacoma. Is that a thing?

It's a thing now that certain areas have been redeveloped and are no longer shitholes. West, North, Proctor all the good areas. Also, Point Ruston.
