White House blasts Amazon over tariff cost report: 'Hostile and political act'

Honestly what’s their problem with showing the tariff effects on merchandise? They should stand proudly by their policies and the American consumer should understand they’re financing the tariffs and if they’re ok with it, so be it.

You guys would want something similar for the gas tax in Washington state right, oh wait they already display that info. What’s the problem?

I want a label on products made with slave labor. I want bargains whatever the cost
 
I think that fact that American companies are exploiting slave labor has been out there for decades, too late to take a moral stance on that. Americans have ignored those concerns.

Hey I’m with you guys. If you guys are ok spending more of your money to support America im ok with that. It’s gonna hurt a ton of Republican red state wal mart shopping consumers if they’re ok with it. They should be educated on what they signed up for.

Not the point. What was wrong with showing consumers that in the first place? Why are you trying to hide the impacts of your policies? I thought China was paying for the tariffs lol.

lol Walmart expanding American products. So they’re getting rid of all imports then and going all American products? Let me see it then we’ll talk.
 
I encourage Amazon to show the .$50 tariff on something they bought for $.50 and are selling at $10.

Again, stand proudly by your policies. Why are you trying to suppress information to consumers so they can make an educated choice? Washington displays their gas tax to everyone, why so scared?

Unless this administration is counting on people to be as dumb as EverettChris so they can blame costs on something else?
 
I asked where the climate change 50 cents a gallon goes to and got crickets in return

lol we already know they’re doing that Bob. At least…I already know all companies are doing this. If we’re banning all imports in game. Republican voters should know what they signed up for, why be scared to educate them?

Amazon isn’t doing the tariff charge breakdown because it would entirely expose their gross margin structure. Like I said, I encourage them to do it and see what happens.

I remember all my Republican friends saying they’re never gonna watch another NFL game again and I ended up watching last years Super Bowl at their house .
 
Ok here’s the truth. The White House wants to tell their voters that China is paying for the tariffs despite every single company saying the tariffs will pass the costs to the consumers. Why shouldn’t consumers have this information available ( because some still can’t grasp this concept like EverettChris) to make an informed decision. The White House should stand proudly by their policies. If you want to pay more to support American companies let’s do it. Just don’t try to lie about who pays for tariffs.
 
Lazy companies are going to pass on tariffs. Others (like my company) are getting foreign suppliers to eat most of it and not pass any onto consumers. Guess who will have increased or decreased their market share?

If I found out what your company did I would pass on tariffs and destroy your company. You can’t compete, it’s that simple.
