He also seems a competent manager and handled an extremely difficult situation the best that could be expected. He also didn't let private bitterness toward DeBoer leak into the public discourse. He kept it Nebraska classy. I appreciate the job he did.
If Jen Cohen had been here, she wouldn't have withstood the pressure of the moment very well. Lots of calls to Peterman to confer. Private moments in her office with the door shut to have a good cry.* Probably would have ended up hiring someone like Wilcox.
Even though the program feels like it was stabbed in the back, and the jury is still out on Fisch... I still count the Fisch hire as a blessing, all things considered.
