I read this as which was more embarrassing and that was an easy choice. I don’t think either are necessarily damaging. It did seem like this was a great year for Oregon which lined up well nationally but I wonder if more and more every year it’s just going to be a pretty even field of 10 teams and whoever has the best portal mercenaries who Pop and put it together in the Playoffs just wins and we’re done with super dominant teams and they’re setup well for that.

I don’t disagree but it is worth noting that the final four are traditional college football powers, blue bloods. They have the money to compete as well as the cachet to sell to players. Things may not change that much.

Some day a #12 seed is going to knock off a #1. That's going to be different. It's been all about 1 or 2 obviously dominant teams for so long that fans have forgotten the days where post season games, not involving said teams, still matter.
I actually like that prospect. I predicted that the 12 team field would eventually just mean more quality, meaningful games for more quality teams. I think that's where it's heading. It's a big improvement over what the bowls had become. At least the best players won't be opting out (until at least well into the first half).

That's such an absurd statement. Under Petermen a 14 point deficit is unlikely but last year with a half dozen NFL players on the offense and the quick strike ability all things were possible
