See, but that's the problem.

SEC is awarded the best rankings so it makes everything they do look better.

Without a playoff we'd have watched Alabama beat FSU in the NC game and many would crow about how amazing the SEC is.

Not so much now.
 
If we had the old system back, we could have had FSU/Bama Sugar Bowl and Oregon/OSU Rose Bowl. Then we could have argued for years about who was the REAL champion.

So you think the SEC was screwed out of national championships in 1999, 2002, and 2004?

The SEC didn't win titles because it was a two team playoff: it won titles because it had the best coaches. Saban is old and Meyer is gone, which is why the SEC is regressing.

I covered this earlier today, keep up.

To win the title you first have to be in the title game.

When that's arbitrarily decided and one conference is assumed the
best - like they were this year- you get the wrong results - like we would have this year without the playoff.

Let the arguments rage on. It's part of the fun. TCU fans have every reason to scream. As well they should.
