I couldn't help but marvel at the fantastic motivational technique used by the European dude hired to coach the Amerikans in the World Cup.

"We have no chance of winning"

The best part is, this fucker is getting a base salary of $2.5 million with incentives that take it up over $10 Million.
 
Well... at least he's honest. The US has about as much chance of winning the World Cup as last year's Sark led Husky team would have had against Coach Carroll's Super Bowl winning Seahawks.

Some of the details are sketchy, but you know it's 100% vendor sponsored, it's 2 weeks and attended by the best from all over the world, you'll stay at the swankiest hotels and told to mingle with an open credit card.

on the way down, he tells you on the plane... oh yeah... I wanted to let you know... we got no shot of winning at this conference.

Klinsmann was a great player but he is a mediocre coach.
The US national team has actually had pretty good result the last few world cups compared to their talent level. I don't expect the same this time though (see my first line).

This isn't the first time he's said it ... just the first time most have paid attention.

Didn't hurt us qualifying. Didn't hurt us in any of our send-off matches. Won't impact us in the group stages.

Getting out of this group would be a major accomplishment for everybody but Germany in this group.
