Does UC SB have a large enough donor base? No. Good, established athletics? No. Ever been to the Rose Bowl? No. Ever compete at a D1 level for decades like WSU has? No. Ever been to a Sweet 16? No. Does UC SB athletics have anyone that gives a shit about it? Relatively, no. Does it have the funding WSU has? No. The facilities? No. The national recognition? Not likely.

It's apples to oranges. Maybe in 50 years the mediocre UC and Cal State schools will get on WSU's level, but it isn't likely.

A little history lesson which Race Bannon(RIP) covered in a podcast(the fuck?) back in 2010. This notion that WSU is an original Pac-8 school so they are automatically grandfathered in is such bullshit.

In 1959 the Pacific Coast Conference which had been going since 1915 broke apart. Idaho btw was a part of our conference. Well in 1959 they formed a new conference which was the AAWU conference which consisted of the California schools Cal, USC, UCLA, and Stanford. Oh and it also included Washington as unlike Idaho, WSU, Oregon and Oregon State the Huskies could actually pull their weight.

The Huskies won the inaugural conference to go to the Rose Bowl in 1959 and 1960. In 1962 the Cougars were invited back into the conference. Then in 1964 the Oregon schools were added back in. The Huskies that year played 7 conference games while the rest only played 4(except Stanford who played 7). The rest of the California schools still wouldn't play the remainder of the PNW as it was a waste of their time.

Then in 1967 that was the first year every team in the conference started to play each other. So from 1959-1966 USC, UCLA, Cal all said fuck the PNW minus Washington they aren't pulling their weight so fuck em. In 1968 the conference was renamed the Pac-8 conference.

I don't know what this really has to do with booting WSU or not. However, to RoadDawg's point they had been booted before. Idaho was part of PCC dating back to 1922-1959 so there was precedent that teams not pulling their weight could be told to LEAVE!

I visited Pullman many times and always had a great time. It's a good place to party, no question about it, and it has better girls than UW. We have had this conversation before. The town still sucks, and it's pathetic people choose to live there. They don't belong in the PAC 12. It's that simple. There is no difference between WSU and Nevada, San Diego St, and other MWC schools other than WSU lucked out and someone made a stupid decision to bring them into the PAC 8.

They generate the smallest revenue of any school in the conference. Montana and Montana State are great party schools with lots of dumb sluts because of the easy admissions. That doesn't mean the belong in the PAC 12. You are a fucking idiot. No wonder all he older posters always hated you.

Wazzu generates far more revenue than the other schools you compared it to, moron. And they are generating more, and are capable of generating more revenue, when the team is actually competitive for any amount of time. Moos and Leach are doing a good job of revitalizing that fan base.
