What's the most reliable vehicle you've ever owned?

'57 Ford F100. They don't make them like that anymore.

No need for jumper cables. One person can push and pop the clutch to start. Just kept a mayonaise jar of gas for the carburetor in case. Thing went everywhere in Gray's Harbor and neighboring counties. No idea the mileage it ended up with but it went through about five of us siblings. From the 60s to the 80's.

Yeah I was the late 70s brother (sib 7 of 9) so it was getting up there in age (older than me).

I had an ‘05 Tacoma that I finally sold a couple years ago. Now have an ‘06 Tacoma that seems like it will run forever.
 
My parents had 2 mid 80s Chrysler New Yorkers, those cars never had a single problem, they also had some early 1990s Buick they put 100,000 miles on without that many problems.

I've had 2 Ford Tauras, which I got for cheap 15-25 years ago...they were both garbage. I had a 2008 Ford Escape, which was also garbage. Aside from their trucks, which are decent, Ford seems to make really bad vehicles. Chevy trucks are also bad and have the worst visibility, IMO, with their square fronts.

I think Dodge Ram trucks are the easiest to manage trucks, and have the best visibility, because of the downward slope of the hood. I had a 4 door, 2013 Dodge Ram truck that was tough and good, I bought it cheap and then drove it for 4 years, then sold it for a profit. I'd go with a Dodge Ram truck again.

I can vouch for that having lived and worked within a mile of the Pacific Ocean for 44 years now. I had never realized that a landlocked shithole like Utah could have the same issue but it makes sense.

Since then I've been on a mice genocide that's service our block well. 2 x industrial bait stations and I change the poison out every month. Probably have killed 200 to 300 of those fuckers in the past 8 months.

About five years ago my car was running terribly and I took it in. They told me rodents had built a nest and eaten wires in the engine. The bill was over $5,000, but fortunately Geico covered all of it. I spray the engine every couple of months now with anti-rodent spray.

My bitch face ex-wife had a 2000 SR5. The 3rd gens are great but a bit too small for a person of my height. The 4th gens were an improvement here although still no ideal for tall guys.

Also, apparently the 4th gen 4.0 V6 is one of the most indestructible motors of all time.

I’m the guy and really the couple that Dave Ramsey hates. Since 2007, I’ve had 8 cars, 7 of them since 2012. Granted, one of those is my 84 CJ (shoutout to @Swaye) that’s more of a luxury than anything but was my daily driver for about 14 months until Mrs Nacho had to drive it for a weekend. After that she told me to go get another truck.

Since 2009, Mrs Nacho has had 6 cars. I blame her for corrupting me.

As for most dependable, it’s hard to say with much changeover. My 2007 Jetta is the car I drove the longest and put the most miles on (west Seattle to JBLM for 4 years) and it held up great.

Mrs Nacho’s 2021 Volvo is starting to act up. Manufacturers have gone way too far with all the computerized shit in cars creating a whole new maintenance schedule.

Proud of you Big Fern for driving a lez sled! We should have one were in not for my wife's vehicular vanity. Instead we have a smaller and more costly Audi wagon that can't even fit our family of 4.

Don't get me wrong @BleachedAnusDawg . I love ya (not homo) for your modern day, Brier Joe Dirt, muscle car ways and the power plant on that SS Camaro is nuts. 455 HP for the 6.2 liter right? 0-60 in 4 secs. But holy fuck all, that car is so impractical for most real life situations. I'd much rather own an luxury AWD sedan like an A-6 over a Camaro any day of the week. Their engines are so punchy. Our Audi AllRoad Wagon gets 261 HP out of 2 liters of displacement. 0-6 is a very respectable 5.6.

This is why America is dying!

Also why the Camaro is extinct. Nobody wants to be cool and impractical anymore. It's a shame. Personally, we have the family rig that fits people and stuff, and we only need one of those kinds of cars for taking family trips, etc.

Also, anybody who has a third garage bay should be legally required to have a muscle car or sports car in the third bay.

People forget my grand daddy was selling more impractical muscle cars than any Chevy dealer in Southern California.

My dad's 2 cars at UW, were a 1966 Chevelle SS and and 1967 Z28 Camaro (they only made like 600 Z28s in the first year).
