As for Elton, he wrote this in tribute to a friend (Long John Baldry) who talked him out of committing suicide whilst being engaged to a woman in the late 60’s…allegedly. One of my favorites to this day….

I forgot I do own and like the Music album. Beautiful Stranger is a guilty pleasure and I have no idea why I find that song enjoyable
