the original John Lee Hooker versions of that were better than the pop oriented George Thorogood IMO. Thorogood spliced together "House Rent Blues" with 1 bourbon... etc. Hooker has standalone "House Rent Blues" sometimes called "House Rent Boogie" version are pretty good, always with the pushy landlady.
