CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Washington men's and women's rowing teams will compete this Sunday at the 58th Head of the Charles Regatta, the premier fall rowing event of the year.
The UW program will also host "The Boys In The Boat" pavilion for fans, supporters and alumni, in honor of the forthcoming release of the new MGM film, based on the book by Daniel James Brown about the 1936 Husky crew that won Olympic Gold. The movie, directed by George Clooney, is due to the theaters this Christmas Day.
The BITB Pavilion, which features movie props, a trailer screening room and more about the "BITB" story, will be open to all on Friday and Saturday, and will serve as the UW hospitality tent from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Huskies will have two men's and women's crews in each of the two marquee eights competitions – the Men's and Women's Championship Eights. The UW women will also enter one crew in the Women's Championship Fours.
One of the two UW Men's Championship Eights crews will row in a new "Boys in the Boat" shell, constructed of carbon fiber created to look like the wooden "Husky Clipper" shell in which the '36 crew competed.[/b]

The northeast media loves them some HOCR which is a great event. Better win to take the pub up even more. Though the rowing team better keep fighting for wins and not for clicks.
