What offense and defense are we running?

New Fish
I watched the spring game and tried to figure that out. From what I can tell it looks like we're running essentially the same offense and defense that Deboer ran.

Defense looks like a 4-2-5 which is exactly what we ran under Deboer. The one wrinkle I saw was that they tended to run one of the defensive ends on the lighter side like more of a "speed rusher" type of guy.

Offense looked very similar to what we ran last year too. Zone flood, rub routes, etc.

Anyone have any insights?

A lot more slants/shorter trees and perimeter blocking type of stuff.
And BIG backs that can get some yards by themselves. Not saying Johnson couldn't at times but I don't think these new backs have to be as versatile wrt pass blocking and all that.
At least that is what I observed from the ~2 times I watched the 49ers last year.

Perhaps because your? QB has a career average of 6.6 YPA.

Heat on the edge and push in the middle.
I'm looking forward to an offense that doesn't require two all time OTs, and Top QB and three Day 1-2 WRs.

Guys are going to be flying around and if your feet don’t have to touch the ground its hugely helpful when trying to install a new offense
