I wore out my cassette of this in high school. Soul Kitchen is still my favorite organ riff of all tim.
So there's a better record than her first? I am still in the early stages of learning Neko. Honky Tonk Hiccups has been played over and over in my house this summer.

Oh yes. First album is good fun, but definitely gets better. Fox Confessor may not be my true favorite Neko album, I just picked which I've listened to most.
Furnace Room Lullaby has some absolutely beautiful songs. If you like The Virginian, you'll probably like Furnace Room better. Keeps to the roots country feel, but goes more noir and just better songs.
And for more Honky Tonk Hiccups stylee
Rumors was probably the best "pop" record of all time. It's just so damn catchy and not in a sucky way.

I think it was by far their best overall music. At the time they were all cheating on each other with each other and a lot of it had to be recorded seperately. But the raw emotions and feelings come out in the music.
Great pick. I've got several vinyl pressings of this. Better than American Beauty imho.

Who's Next is in my top 5 LP's of all time. Being a vinyl guy, you might want to track down the 2005 Classic Records reissue which is considered the best pressing of this album ever....even beats a UK 1st press.

I just call it EDM. I like that shit. Dont really listen to much lately though. Probably like 2011-2016 I was all about it though.
