What is the most greased up team to ever play the Washington Huskies?

I would say the 12 year reign of the Ducks - we were bent over grabbing our ankles so maybe not that greasy after all
One of the unfortunate things for UW was no matter what Oregon is always massively greased for UW other than like 2016-17 where they probably wanted to bottom out and fire coaches anyway. Oregon was better than UW each of the 12 other than maybe the last one but they were never going to even remotely overlook a UW team.
Which makes Penix 3-0 all the more remarkable.
Dude had the kryptonite for Oregon grease.

Big Degreaser Energy…

I don't really know how to quantify, but what about any ASU team almost ever? I don't know if they were that greased or if UW just always played like such dog shit. Don't know how to quantify 2022 UCLA too - was it just DTR or was that the entire team's Super Bowl?

They aren't greased up, UW just plays like dog shit

failed to mention 01 Miami was pretty greased up. They were the better team but they were out for blood.
This is a good pull. I don't think that UW team was anywhere near that Miami team but I feel like I've heard players from that UW team say that they had just won the Apple Cup, had nothing to play for really, Miami was still playing for the natty, and Neuheisel really half assed that game. I also always say that Miami teams shows how hard it is to go undefeated as they were like 20 yards from losing to Boston College two weeks before that game then almost lost to a Vick-less Beamer Ball team the next week.
2001 Oregon State is another underrated greased up team. UW came in the better team but Jonathan Smith and the Beav had lost heartbreakers to the Huskies the year before and blew out UW in Corvallis.

My takeaway from this thread is that half the Pac12 was always greased up to take down UW.
Maybe another reason the B1G will be better.

One of the positives I was saying when the move to the Big 10 officially happened was this. It felt in the past nearly 10 years that like 3/4's of the conference games now were rivalry games.
Oregon & Coug - duh
Beav - Smith is a true Beav and I think was salty about not being a serious candidate twice for HC, maybe all the shit sites like this gave him as OC.
Cal - Wilcox was greased to beat UW. Guessing combo of being a Duck, not getting retained by Petersen (right?), and never getting the HC job.
Stanford - Under Shaw, he seemed triggered after he felt UW embarrassed him in 2016 and was fine with going 4-8 as long as he beat UW or Oregon. The grease trap felt emptied here though.
UCLA - Don't know what it is but this fucking underachieving, soft program always saves their best for UW.
ASU - There's no logical reason for the way this team plays against UW now for two decades but it certainly made it feel like a rivalry game.

1990 UCLA. UW had #1 on the line and UCLA was already eliminated from bowl contention. Both the Bruin players and coaches brought a special kind of grease with them that day. UCLA moved the ball on the UW defense in Husky stadium better than Natty winning Colorado did in Boulder. With Brunell missing everything and Lewis being hurt, UW just couldn’t get a firm grasp on that slippery team and their slippery game plan. Sad day for 12yo Knowledge.
