What is supposed to happen when there’s a labor shortage?

Robots.

Lots and lots of robots.

Basically this. More technology investment so that we can just avoid hiring more than bare minimum amount of low level people.

The whole “capitalism lifts people out of poverty” bit loses a lot of steam when you refuse to hire people unless they’re willing to live in poverty.

The whole communism is better than capitalism bit still resonates with you though?

Sark is better than Ty potd.

My personal preference in economic systems is irrelevant. An economy where half the workforce is low wage and their wages can never go up, because they’ll be replaced by child labor and robots, is not sustainable.

It doesn’t matter how many times communism has failed, capitalism still has to actually work.

Each day you sound more and more like an entitled little bitch.

Lol, what a fucking retard. Capitalism has clearly worked, it has even provided your dumb ass with the means to be stupid and type something like that.

Has worked and will continue to work are two completely different things.

A labor shortage where high paying jobs aren’t available and wages don’t increase, and instead results in a loosening of child labor laws and robot investment, isn’t an economic system working. It is an economic system failing.

High paying jobs aren't available? You are really stupid.

Great Boared Choice POTD.

Literally, raising the minimum wage would further weaken the labor market.

I don't expect you to understand why or have a coherent reason for thinking otherwise. None the less, you will persist in your ignorant opinion.

You aren't good at this and it's really painful watching you get so much so wrong ...

First, it's a great time to look for high paying jobs as every person I talk to is in a spot where companies can't hire fast enough or find enough qualified people.

Second, the fundamental problem with a lot of these low wage jobs out there is that there is likely a very fundamental difference between what many of those jobs are intended for. You'd tell me that the person working at Dick's, a grocery store, etc. is someone that needs to make a living wage. I'd sit there and tell you that those jobs (management excluded) are tied to high school and college students, a 2nd earner in a household looking to work part-time, etc ... what we're getting as a result is rapid amounts of inflation all over the system ... ordering a pizza and small side salad to be delivered shouldn't cost more than $50.

I have no issue with getting more young people in place in the work force ... not because of it's depressed labor prices ... but because it helps in building up work ethic and accountability ... and hopefully, we can re-invest in developing skill sets that satisfy the jobs that are out there. There's a huge disconnect right now.

Or a tractor. Or a welding machine. Or a hammer. Or any number of trades that are screaming for workers.

Old fucks are retiring now. Forty years of 'you must get a college degree' has left the trades empty of skilled labor.
