I actually could see Tui joining Wilcox's staff (again) if JW was hired. Tui is currently the OC and QB coach at Rice.

Tui's career progression has been one of a coach who simply isn't good. In ten years he never promoted beyond a position coach at the P5 level, and being a coordinator at a G5 doormat like Rice is arguably worse than being a P5 position coach. There is no reason to bring him on staff, he offers nothing.

LOVE Tui but I know someone close to the Cal program and he said Tui's a great guy but it's well known he's not a great coach and his trajectory screams that. Wish him well. Does he have kids by the way or do any of the Tui's have kids. They could bring some tuffness into the program.

One of the worst baseball players I have ever seen. Mariners for whatever reason drafted him. Not a coincidence we have haven't sniffed the playoffs in 20 yrs.
 
Tui is a Husky Legend, but there's several other coaches I would gamble on over him, primarily because he's never been a head coach before. Don't think it would be wise for him to cut his teeth as a head coach @ UW, too big of a job.

A third round pick who played 140 games in the majors. That's far from one of the worst baseball players ever. Most second rounders never even reach the bigs.
