You're right in that no one cares about head to head matchups when considering all of this.

They didn't even care about WSU's (a.k.a. Leech's) TV ratings.

Everything in that tweet is relevant though.
 
Oregon’s worth depends on the benefactor. If you’re talking school presidents and academia, then yeah, Washington murders Oregon in value. But if you’re talking media (fox, nbc, cbs) then Oregon has the edge. Washington has the larger market, but Oregon does have a larger reach nationally. And let’s not deny that yes the presidents have the final vote, but the media players are definitely calling the shots on expansion. Presidents aren’t making a decision without the media’s backing.

DeBoer turned around Indiana in one year in the B1G, beating Penn St, Michigan and taking Ohio State to the wire.
