I get the jump coming in ‘26 but can someone give me the cliff notes of how an athletic program spends so much fucking money and despite more TV rev than ever, they still operate at a deficit? With the fucking ridiculous cost of tuition do those streams not bleed together? Edjumakate me.

Our ticket sales suck for football and basketball. We are still paying Jimmy LAke and stadium debt. It's hard.

Packing the stadium for a year or two makes a big difference though.

Ticket sales are going to be through the roof because the spares will be eaten up y midwesterners

who cares opposing fans take up 20-30 percent of seats. Big $ to the program, that gives them the ability to do everything they need to become better at football.

Name a west coast team/venue that doesn't have the same phenomenon.... transplants, people like to travel to west coast cities, etc.

Dodger Stadium, Warriors, Lakers, etc.

I happen to think Big 10 will reinvigorate the local Seattle UW fanbase quite a bit though, especially with the new teams coming in.

True but attendance was pretty good with many sellouts or close to sellouts.

Add in more away fans and it's fine

Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA, USC, Penn State, Michigan State, maybe even Minnesota and Nebraska all are games that will move the needle.

Oregon nuff said. Cuog is a maybe but nuff said

The rest of the B1G? Mostly meh, but if the program is good it'll be fine.

Attendance would have dwindled in the pac12. Getting usc oregon and sometimes Penn state Wisconsin mich or tosu coming out is a big deal. Those team travel even if we don't fill the stadium ourselves.
