We have very few recruits and they suck bad. We may not get anymore recruits this year. Oregon is killing it and killing us.

Doogs are migrating here to point out that we don't want them anyway.

I may just enjoy this upcoming 9-4 season because it looks like the last winning season for the next 10 years or so

Willie Lyles-Taggart and crew are good recruiters. Their 2018 will probably be a top 20 class, maybe top 10 if some things break their way (Penei, Cota, Hufanga).

Can they develop their talent? I dunno. LIFPO.
 
At the end of recruiting season. UW will have a really good class. Maybe it won't be as highly touted as USC/Oregon but Pete has shown that he is one of the best at developing players.

Also depends how the season goes, if they above 500 they highly like to finish in top 15 in recruiting. If below, u will see bunch a rats jumping ship

I don't agree with that. One of the attractions of going to Oregon right now is to be part of the rebirth. I don't think many of their current commits are expecting a Pac 12 championship run this year.

Maybe if Willie completely shits his pants and wins like 1 or 2 games that might happen but I don't so.

Agree with the cuntwaffle. If the team looks like shit, I would tend to agree. But there's still a fair bit of talent on the roster. Last year's team had no business going 4-8, raw-talent-wise.

With competent coaching, a winning season is a reasonable expectation. Assistants have good track records, Lyles-Taggart built up his teams at WKU and USF from shit to decent.

If he sucks, Phil will fire him and we will start over. The real mistake that doogs keep making is that Oregon is some kind of flash-in-the-pan that was dependent on the Chipster.

Oregon was good, if not awesome under Iron Mike, and the standard at the Oregon AD now is to be top-tier in conference. Football is the key that unlocks all the other doors, so sucking at football will not be tolerated.
 
Oregon is a better brand than UW. That doesn't change over night. We warned UW of this 10 years ago.

Petermen really looks like he was the man for the times with his ability to WAC recruit and develop

Won't UW in some way always not have what seems to be a "Top Class" because Petersen is so advent on not caring about the star system? and these classes are ranked off stars? Petersen knows what he is looking for and what he is looking for won't necessarily work at every other Uni. Maybe I am wrong

Pete offers most of the guys everybody else thinks is elite. As time goes on and UW establishes itself as the top or at worst a top 2 program in the west he'll get more and more of those guys.

There will probably always be a Taylor Rapp who Pete loves but the sites whiff on or even a Victor Curne sprinkled in there, but there will gradually become fewer three stars at UW as Pete gets into position to get more of the guys who fit his OKG profile and happen to have offers from everybody else.

The bigger factor is that Pete will probably never be taking a 25 man class so his class rankings will be artificially suppressed because of that.

It's not that Petersen "doesn't care" about the stars. The reason he came to UW was because he wanted to scale what he was doing at Boise but with bigger and better talent. Now he certainly doesn't dwell on recruiting rankings but the best kids are the best kids so he will offer the same recruits everyone else does. He wants to find the kids who fit his system who have that top tier talent.

So yes Petersen won't be going to rivals, scout, or 247 to keep up where kids are ranked but its not like he is going to ignore the players on those lists.
 
Oregon recruits well because they have really good salesman, I applaud them for that. As our actual duck says we will understand more about them when we see how they develop talent. Most of our staff sells well too, not at the Oregon level, but Pete and his staff are, without question, elite talent evaluators and developers. And we have one of the top 3-5 strength coaches in the country.
