What I am hearing in Los Angeles

If Chip can't win at UCLA when the USC program is the worst it's been in over two decades, then he isn't winning in Washington.

UCLA would be dumb to fire Chip. He is trending up.

Maybe

It's not a steep curve up.

True but it's progress, and for UCLA, they have peaked at 9 wins in the past 20 years. They cant hire someone better than Chip IMO especially with all the other openings

Mora had back to back 10 win seasons

Given the context of all of the other current vacancies, I agree, I think Chip has bought himself one more year.

Thought it was 9

I do think chip deserves another year

I wouldn't be against that if I was a UCLA fan. I'm just saying, in comparison to expectations, Chip's era at UCLA can be considered a failure at this point.

If I were a UCLA fan I'd push hard for his firing as Chip has been coasting in retirement mode this entire time and has the worst record in history there. Then I'd kill myself for being a UCLA fan.

As a UW fan with competing interests, I hope he wins out to get to 8 and keep them off the market for a new HC.

In POG's defense, giving Chip one more year isn't a horrible idea, considering USC, Washington, LSU, Auburn, Florida, and Penn St. could all be looking for new hires. Chip is a better option than a replacement 5-6 spots down their potential list.

Reporter: "Just checking to see what you're hearing with Chip and UCLA and his contract going forward?"

Chip's agent: "Who knows? I will tell you— but don't mention my name — that Washington is very interested in Chip. He may be right at the very top of their list to be completely honest with you."

Reporter: "Wow, OK. Didn't know about that"

Chip's agent: "Glad to share. Again, just keep my name out of it, OK?"

Reporter: "Will do"

UCLA nailed their recent men’s bball hire. That’s definitely not a program you want on the market

Just give Chip a house on Cap Hill and call it a day.

He wont say no.
