DeRuyter had such a small body of work I was never 100% sold on the idea. Especially after shitting the bed against San Jose State. It wasn't a horrible choice but not nearly as good as some thought.
 

No, it was a horrible choice, and anyone who was pushing for it is a retard and deserves open mockery. DeRuyter would've made a fine DC here, but that's about if.

To be fair, Pete's Boise State team just plunger'd by Steve Sarkisian's Washington Huskies.

If you're bagging on DeRuyter for getting worked by USC, then you better be fucking pissed you just hired a guy that was historically beaten by Sark.

Hindsight fellas. I am glad we hired Petersen, but 11-2 in year 2 at Fresno State is a good season. Fuck, this board is as bad as doogman the way you guys react to every game.

Sure. It's a very nice season (I'll ignore the fact that they didn't really play anybody and shit the bed vs .500 SJSU). But thinking that one very nice season makes somebody a realistic candidate for a job like Washington is completely fucking insane.

The guy is a nice mid major coach, and he is exactly where he belongs.
