Being a teacher is, at least partially, a lifestyle choice. It's rare to find a job where you can get 3 months off plus all the generous holidays (1 week in the spring, 2 weeks during Christmas, most Federal holidays, etc etc) while also having job protection based off on first in, last out.
But why are there teacher's unions anyway? They say it's all about the kids but unions inherently exist to extract as much money and as many benefits / concessions possible from the people paying the bills, aka taxpayers.
Frankly I think public sector unions are unethical and unjust because they conspire with politicians to hose taxpayers for their own benefit. That's one of the main reasons why the WEA and Randi Weingartner scream bloody murder when it comes to Charter Schools because Charter Schools, for all intents and purposes, reduce the WEA's assets under management and allocates some out of their control.
If I were a teacher and I was tired of my salary (which is fair for the value returned), I would find something else to do during the summer to supplement. Fucking christ, it is so simple and just proves what pussies people are. Not to mention the other things teachers can do like tutor rich people's retarded kids (which the money there is really good if you teach something useful like math).
Or better yet, be a good enough teacher to get on a private school.
These people need to put their money where their mouths and actually nail themselves to their fucking crosses. And don't even get me started about firefighters. The next time I drive by Doc Harris and see those faggots out playing soccer I might just go Carmageddon on their asses.
