Furthermore they wouldn't let Trump's defense provide any expert testimony that no federal election crime was violated let alone charged. But it was important to have Stormy lie to the jury about things that had no bearing on any federal or state crime.
 
They couldn't bring the 34 misdemeanors with another crime and they failed to ever actually say what that was during trial. Unless I missed something. With out that single charge the others 34 were unprosecutable.

The judge in his jury instructions the crime that Trump tried to hide was the federal election law. That wasn't in the indictment or any evidence presented to the jury. Just a statement from the obviously only trying to be a honest and helpful democrat was was not randomly selected but was selected because he hated Trump and impartial justice.
