We need a general tweet of the day thread

It's not so much that the University of Iowa would waste mandatory student fees to fund a racist anti-American POS like Reid to speak on campus it is that she will be granted her American first amendment right to give her presentation free from being shouted down or physically assaulted. Given that diversity is our strength there is no way Iowa is paying $55k for Laura Ingraham, who draws multiple more viewers than Reid, to make a presentation at the University and insure a professional environment. Or anyone not a hard core leftist.https://www.campusreform.org/articl...ost-joy-reid-55k-speak-campus-exclusive/27069

Campus Reform filed a public records request with the University of Iowa regarding speaker funds allocated to left-wing MSNBC host.
The University of Iowa agreed to pay Joy-Ann Reid $55,000 as well as provide first-class hotel accommodations and meals for her visit.

We basically went to the moon in less than 7 years from Kennedy's promise in 1962 to the moon landing in 1969. Now we can't deliver two new 747 Air Force Ones in that time frame. No totally new airframe or jet engines. I can imagine the project manager looking over the delivery timeline and the wish list of must have items.
PM - This is quite a list of must have items. Can we like prioritize these so we can actually meet the time line?
Boeing Management - They are all top priority.
PM - Uh, who put this timeline together?
BM - A combined effort by our marketing and finance department.
PM - Uh, did you talk to engineering?
BM - Yes, this was vetted by our new Senior VP of Engineering, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Mounting Boeing Delays Suggest Trump Won't Fly In New Air Force One
by Tyler Durden Friday, Dec 13, 2024 - 05:50 AM
Aerospace giant Boeing warned earlier this year that supply chain snarls, persistent inflation, and workforce challenges have impacted the construction timeline of two new Air Force One presidential aircraft.
A new report from the Wall Street Journal suggests that continued delays indicate President-elect Donald Trump will not get to fly in the new Boeing 747s during his second term, with the latest projections targeting 2029 or later.
Trump is frustrated with the delays. Here's more from WSJ:
Frustrated with the delays, Trump raised the project with Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg when the two men spoke by phone in November. As he prepares to return to the White House, Trump has repeatedly asked advisers about the status of Boeing's work. Boeing used to be a great American company, he has told aides, according to people briefed on the discussions. What happened to them? Trump has asked.
In 2018, during President-elect Trump's first term, Boeing received a $3.9 billion contract to build two new 747-8 aircraft for use as Air Force One. The aircraft were supposed to be delivered by the end of this year.
Ted Colbert, head of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, spoke with Fox Business in July, revealing that supply chain, inflation, workforce, and other challenges in building the airplanes pushed out delivery timelines.
"Our team is fighting through a very, very challenging program – two very complex airplanes," Colbert said at the time, adding, "We've done a ton of investment in our workforce and training, efficiency, work on the factory floor."
In 2023, the Biden administration decided to reverse Trump's decision to switch to a red, white, and blue scheme, from the current white with two shades of blue, a design that dates back to the Kennedy administration.
"The delay is startling given that Boeing isn't building the planes from scratch," WSJ noted.

Are we absolutely sure about that?

Yes we did... otherwise the soviets or China would have disproven it by now.

Twitter has done a pretty good job

Economies are booming in deep blue cities. Lots of investment opportunities to provide a target for criminals and government DEI grifters. I feel for the owners/employees of a dying bar/restaurant but they vote at least 90% for democrats and then get what they voted for.

IS TRUMP MAKING SNL GREAT AGAIN?! Probably not — salvaging America is one thing, but bringing Saturday Night Live back to life is a nigh-impossible task at this late date. Still, credit where credit is due: Watch: Chris Rock Sends Libs Searching for a Safe Space With ‘SNL’ Monologue Slamming Biden, Democrats.
“Trump had a good year, man,” Rock said. “Trump survived an assassination attempt. Won the presidency again by winning the popular vote. Was just named Time ‘Man of the Year.’ You know?”
“It could happen to a nicer guy.”
That may have been the worst of it, as Rock immediately ripped anti-Trump liberals for saying the president-elect’s return to the White House would shatter norms and etiquette.
“A lot of people are scared. Like, ‘Oh, my God, he’s going to be so undignified,'” he mocked. “When I say a lot of people, I’m talking about the nine New Yorkers that didn’t vote for him, okay?”
He then eviscerated Clinton.
“Come on, man, this is not the most dignified job in the world,” Rock said of the presidency. “We’ve had presidents show up to the inauguration with pregnant slaves, okay? And I’m just talking about Bill Clinton.”
Rock continued with some jokes about the Menendez brothers getting out of prison just in time to get deported by the 47th President and teaming up with the world’s “richest African-American,” Elon Musk.
“Trump is not playing. He’s got Elon. They’re going to put them in a rocket ship — call it SpaceMex,” he quipped.
At one point, the former SNL regular addressed Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter Biden, joking that the president might not have all of his mental faculties, but he can still stick it to people.
“I gotta hand it to Joe. He don’t move as fast as he used to, he don’t talk as fast as he used to,” Rock laughed. “But that middle finger still works.”
The comment elicited some good laughs. Not laughing, however, were leftists on X who suggested Rock needed to be slapped by Will Smith again for daring to make jokes across the political aisle.
“Normalizing the felon will never be funny,” one BlueSky woman wrote. “Love Chris Rock but oof.”
The Ayatollah Khomeini was famously quoted as saying, “An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.” And even he’d probably be wondering today why doctrinaire leftists are such humorless scolds.
