WHAT THE FUCK WE LITERALLY HAVE A SPONSORSHIP FROM THE LARGEST AIRLINE IN SEATTLE FOR BOTH FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL WHICH FLIES NONSTOP TO BASICALLY EVERY B1G CITY HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE

Oregon is one with the @Logistics challenges since PDX does not have the same service level let alone Eugene.

Edit: Alaska has nonstops to Omaha, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, DCA and Newark.

Iowa and Penn State are the two furthest from nonstops out of SEA, with 3+ hours of ground transit required.

Flying to Wisconsin is that much more expensive than Tucson? Fuck off.

My best back of the envelope is that they're just doubling travel expenses.

Bus trips to WSU/OSU replaced by flights.

The average charter flight doubled in length, so close to doubling the cost.

Now more than ever we need @Logistics to provide their insight.

sponsorships do not equal free or even discounted flights. Teams and universities try and get as much money as possible sponsorship wise from an airline... still budget for the travel and it is independent of the sponsorship money received.

The thing that gets left out of these reports is that this is only for the first couple of years. All of the other new invitees to the B1G also had to pay their dues and take a lower cut (except USC/UCLA so fuck them)... it will be a full share after a few years.

The university has a corporate discount.
