We are fucked in the state of Washington...

When communists run your state they do communist things. When it all collapses on itself they'll blame the few conservatives left.

Sales taxes, and taxes on ridiculous things like storage units are very regressive. They affect people making $70,000 much more than those who are making $700,000, unless the richer person is a completely reckless spender. They tried to pass one here and I got texts and junk mail from both the chamber of commerce right and pinko left telling me how bad it was.

The Dems want to lift the 1% cap on property tax increases. All my real estate guysms are very concerned that this could actually pass through the legislature.

Washington has open borders with the rest of the US.
If you haven't left, leave now.
You're happy. And I'm happy.
Problem solved.
It's a win-win.
Well, your generation I can just wait out. Tick, tick, etc.
The younger generations have been killed by this state enough that it's just going to be a matter of undoing this shit.
I think the younger generations face a lot more challenging environment than mine did. The old codgers on this bored routinely ignore the fact, that among other advantages we had, our public college educations were MASSIVELY subsidized by taxpayers. We didn’t ever have crushing student loans. I’m a little unique among the muttering old fuckers here in that I don’t pretend otherwise.
Is Washington especially worse for your generation than other places in the country? As with most things, I suspect the answer depends on your circumstances.
I think the average Gen Z male that is aiming to have a decent salary, a wife that doesn't have to work, at least 2 kids and a starter house is in big trouble in this state. From both policy and soft culture. And even with the shit that millennials had to deal with, there was enough of a path 15 years ago if they weren't a fuckhead.
My starter house in 2012 was a 140k bank repo that required some labor but could be paid off with even a shit salary (which I had at the time).
Now look at what Gen Z is dealing with. Oh awesome both people work and they got their starter home and pay an additional 2-3k for daycare, now let's go ahead and raise taxes or annex the area they live into a bigger city run by money grubbers.
It's totally corrupt and rotten in this state when it comes to producing future productive people here.

Olympia doesn’t really want productive people. Those are the entrepreneurs and the upper middle class. They want large corps and wage slavers. That’s the model for employment stability and tax base captivity.

The state house doesn’t give a fuck If you’re originally from Redmond or Mumbai. Mid to High earning wage workers that will pay their taxes without complaining is what they want, but they’d prefer overseas work, provided that they stay here.

Believe me when I say that they’d rather do business with a handful of large corps as opposed to herding cats on 10,000 small businesses and having to cater to the native born 500k-1.5MM a year crowd who actually give a shit about their performance re: public ed and crime.
Basically all the dem led parts of the country.

Dems love the taxes that you can't pin down on anything. Unrealized gains, assessed property tax values.
The value of something is what someone will pay for it. Not what some pocket protector county employee 'thinks' your home is worth. It's a bullshit tax.
Then again, most taxes are bullshit.

Dems in Oregon doing god's work for the working man. Just the camel's nose under the tent. Perhaps soccer duck can explain this. Irony is that the wine and beer industry in Oregon is probably populated by hard left dems.https://katu.com/news/health/sales-...erey-vineyard-club-politics-revenue-portland-
Portland, Ore. (KATU) — A new bill in the Oregon legislature could result in a sales tax on beer, wine, and cider in Oregon.
House Bill 3197 proposes a 2% tax starting in 2026, eventually climbing to 8% in 2032. The tax would impact consumers at restaurants and at the grocery store. A majority of the funds collected, 85%, would go toward funding youth alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs.
"I don't think it's a surprise to anybody that sales tax is something that Oregon has held at bay and for a good reason," Christine Walter, Owner of Cidermaker of Bauman's Cider Company, said during an interview with KATU news. "It makes us a little more attractive as a destination when people are thinking about traveling, and we don't want to lose that."
The Oregon Beverage Alliance opposes the tax, citing a Monitoring the Future survey that claims youth drinking and drug use is at an all-time low.
“Lawmakers should not be raising prices through a regressive sales tax on constituents when they’re already at record highs. Additionally, the beer and wine sectors are seeing record closures with 70 breweries, taprooms, and brewpubs and 60 wineries and tasting rooms shuttering in the past two years as fewer people are drinking,” a spokesperson with the Oregon Beverage Alliance said.

In terms of raw dollars, an individual in the top 1% (at the lowest income amount in that bracket) would pay 8 times more than an individual earning the highest amount within the lowest income bracket. And that poor person gets a bunch of government assistance.

You showed that the lowest incomes paid the highest percentage in taxes. Accept victory. Some of us are bright enough to have pointed out how regressive adding 50 cents a gallon to the commuter would be. Now they want 10 cents more. Are you blaming Dan Evans? It was all democrats
As for your desire to extend the pain to the middle class with an income tax the democrats are working on that too
They claimed a capital gains tax wasn't an income tax and got a corrupt supreme court to agree and now Jeff Bezos lives in Florida. Good job. MOre revenue for the poor and middle to make up
You misspelled "I'm a retard"

Thanks for confirming Washington state Democrats fuck The Poors with a regressive tax system. This is nothing new.

Nice to see you came around, even if you did so by accident.

I think you girls pretending you are on Team Dan Evans is at least twice as funny as when you pretend to be on Team Ronald Reagan.
And I know quite a bit more about Dan Evans's thoughts on your destruction of his old party than you do.

I hope you’ve prepped for your “big trial” a lot better than you prepped for this latest Shitpost Asskicking.
H is the civil version of Chris Darden asking OJ to try on a dry, shrunken glove.
