Hopefully this will be the last top state recruit who winds up at another school.
Can't wait until Passion blames Petersen for this.
Listen and try and understand. First of all, Biggins said (not me) that one of Petersen's initial challenges will be to develop relationships with blue chippers (i.e., 4 and 5 star recruits) for the 2014 and 2015 class. At boise it wasn't worth his time to focus on the budda bakers, so he wisely didn't do so.
I think it was an intelligent use of his time. Focus on the guys he could get, and then develop the talent.
This is an example of where Biggins was correct. Petersen has no relationship with Budda. Budda surely knows who Petersen is - as does everyone in college football. But they haven't developed the kind of personal relationship that is often required to land the top fish.
Now that Petersen is at a school with all the requirements to get top recruits, he can focus on developing those relationships.
Do I blame him for budda? No, as I think that budda has been drawn to the trash in eugene for a while. However, at some point this in-state bleeding has got to stop, and it's Petersen's job to stop it. It's pathetic.
