Washington coach Jedd Fisch stays mum about contract situation

The president didn’t hire the current AD, who in turn didn’t hire the current football coach and yet here we are in the playoff hunt. Washington is a powerhouse if they cared. But they often times don’t. Yee haw

Fisch isn’t taking a college coaching job again, if he can help it. He is auditioning for an NFL gig. Demond is his meal ticket, next year is his prove-it season. The only way he leaves early this season is if we get in playoffs and the right deal is there

He's a fucking coward and/or he knows UW is job he can just coast at.
UW is closer to CAL about caring about football than they are to the actual big boys.
Peterman was a top 5? 3? coach in the nation and outright quit. Boner peaced the fuck out to go somewhere people actually cared.
There's a common denominator here.
A quook waxing poetic about "top 3 or 5 coach in the NATION" Chris Petersen where he only won 8 games half his years in Power 4 losing to shit like Cal, ASU, and Mario Cristobal Oregon.
🍷🍷🍷
One doog says comparing Miami to UW is insane because Warshington has had so many more good seasons since 2001, another doog shits on half of those seasons. You guys are hilarious. And how motherfucking stupid are you to say I'm a quook becuause I just said a UW coach was top 5 in the nation? You're brain dead.
He was never even close to a top 5 coach at Washington. In fact for 2 seasons he perpetuated the narrative that Boise coaches can't win at the next level.
Would Urban ever get his ass kicked with Vita Vea and Greg Gaines?
This isn't the first time you've propped up Petersen and Browning to ridiculous levels. Have at it, I guess, but it's a total quook narrative and makes them feel better about Washington.

Chun should have never been hired …
Say whatever you want about Dannan but that hire was all about shifting away from the stank of Jen and the underlying rot of the AD
Allowing for the internal coup from within the AD on Dannan and then hiring Chun who has way more Jen in him was a horrific reactionary move.
Needing to blow up the Athletic Department leadership isn't anything new …
Hopefully the new President will have the opportunity to do so
I certainly agree with your second sentence

Not necessarily arguing with you and your point is valid, but don’t forget Urban had “heart problems” at Florida when the team was down

wish he would just leave and we could hire Franklin
Franklin best those Urban Myer teams once and the cheating Harbaugh teams 1-2 times I can’t remember. Penn State was a shit hole and fucked after Joe Pa statue cam down. His teams are tough on defense and have some pretty good offensive stats including running the ball. His recruiting has been great as well

Fisch still has 0 exceeding expectation wins at UW and is facing 3 tarmac games.
Beating Illinois by more than the spread does not give him cover if he loses one of the next 3. He's done nothing where he has earned sufficient goodwill to survive a loss in the next 3 games.
Would it be bad if he left us after this year? Probably pending the next 3, and yes if he wins those given the churn of a program due to coaching changes.
If he goes 10-2 or even 9-3 we probably have to up his salary due to the landscape but should not be tripping over ourselves to do so. Increase his incentives or something.

@Joey
That's true, and he got his ass kicked by Purdue at the end, but then still handled "top 3 or 5 coach" in the country Chris Petersen whose offense scored 3 points the game before.
My problem is just the quooking about Petersen and Browning. 8, 7, 8 wins half his years, Browning was terrible 3 out of his 4 seasons.
Both had plenty of chances to shut me up and Pete would rather just wear a purple tie on Fox and ass grab with Matt Leinhart since he actually had a good record against USC while at UW.

Peterman was better off as a coach in the 80s and 90s. The game passed him by before it really started. Great coach maybe elite but not a snake. You needed to be a snake and be elite

Was thirsting for James Franklin satire? Outside of the most talented running back since Barry Sanders happening to be from his state and playing for him, he did nothing more than what you would expect at Penn State, which is either the second or third-best positioned program in the Big 10, which has quietly been pretty pedestrian other than Ohio State for decades (outside of a 3 year Michigan window).
I'd much much rather take a big swing with someone young or someone like DeBoer (Eck) than someone like Franklin or fucking Brian Kelly who have been mediocre at Top 10 blue bloods.

If Franklin couldn't win it all at Penitentiary (har har) State, he sure as hell can't do it at Washington.

Absolutely not. I can't think of a single previously-fired college coach that I would consider in the slightest, other than Kiffin. Especially one like Franklin, that if he did find success here, would assuredly just then look to leave for a better job. I'd take Mora over him in that category of coach because at least he might consider being loyal.

Feels like a UW that is living in a data-informed world would go hard after Mora in back channels right now.

I'd love it if UW locked down Jedd for going 9-3 or 10-2. Jedd + UW 4vr!!

If he goes 10-2 and BONEMs we need to throw the bag at him. It's the reality of this fucked up sport these days.
9-3, agreed. It is still better to keep him than lose him, but ehh….

Mora is the ultimate test of the institution making the coach
If he won big here iDawg and I get statues at Husky Stadium for our data driven call in 2007
