I met Mike Lude at a booster event in Portland, as well as Don James briefly. I was heading to my freshman year at UW and Mike very enthusiastically and generously invited me to come by his office when I got to campus, which I did. He didn't know me, or my Dad, but met with 18 year old freshman me in his office (overlooking the old sunken tennis courts as I recall) and asked how he could help me. Struck me as energetic and driven. And as I recall, that was right around the time of the Apple Cup mace incident. Good times!

The school puts the pressure on the AD. But in hindsight I think he got jimbo to aTm, stadium built at uw, whether Kelly works out or not I don’t know, but not easy to snag him from ND. I’m team pool boy.

Hedges was AD at the time. My relative was a double graduate of UW, including the law school. She thought Hedges might actually take some interest in that fact, and perhaps they might even have a friendly conversation during their hours on the course together. In fact, no. Hedges was a complete *itch and hardly talked at all. Let's just say my in-law wasn't impressed.
