Walmart’s departure from Portland shines light on rampant property crime

The Walmart is in the Eastport Plaza and is in the Lents neighborhood. Nice place if you like crime and having your car broken into or stolen. A little gunfire at night makes it seem like the Fourth year round.

Even the local media are starting to put some heat on Wheeler the mayor and he always looks like an overwhelmed teenager when confronted with the obvious facts. Still lots of pretending. Talk of getting the NBA All Star game. Enticing MLB to Portland. Once long-term commercial leases come up, rent will plummet and more vacancies.

Portland's only defense is that its not alone as a West Coast shithole City. Olympia is arguably worse, while cities like Gresham and Tumwater have turned into - or back into - fucking dumps.

Has a Tri-Met rep on KATU last night responding to the "claim" that Portland and public transportation wasn't safe. Her argument was exactly that all cities were facing that issue and they were working on it.

Nice. Basically all crap cities are run by dem mayors with most of them having dem governors too so it's Trump's fault.

Sound Transit is the biggest fucking boondoggle of my lifetime in the Seattle area. By the time it's built out, Seattle will be a completely grimy shit-hole city from one end to the other.

With most people working from home and "15 minute" cities being mapped out right now, WTF are we spending a trillion dollars on trains for? Fucking ridiculous for a place like Seattle and King County wanting to be more like Chicago, Boston or New York. Just plain stupid and won't be a year before certain train routes and cars will be unsafe for anyone but gangsters and the pants-shitting homeless bums.

I was talking to the owner of a local business I use for office supplies and shit is getting bad here in East Vancouver. He says it’s Portland and Cali criminals coming here for easy pickings.

They hit the complex he’s in but he lucked out and they left before getting to his. They break into an empty space, no alarm, and then tear through the drywall to access and steal from other businesses.

Somebody needs to wire 240V into the metal studs on the dividing walls.

They'll not only prevent access through the drywall, but fry the criminal bastards in their tracks, cooking them from the inside out like a microwave.

Sure. So would hiring security who opened fire on anyone breaking and entering. At this point, that's pretty much what it would take. The dem solution is to disarm the property owner and ignore the actual felons in possession.
 
I know a business owner in PDX his place was hit a couple of weeks ago. He said the police were great and told him he actually lucked out. They've seen other businesses where the scum has shit and pissed all over the floors and smeared crap everywhere.
