Trump should probably just stay out of it, Youngkin is doing just fine on his own without stirring up the suburban housewives in the wrong direction.

It's a true tight rope but Youngkin is now rewriting the play book on exactly how to do it. Agree with Trump on almost all policy issues. Stay cordial but dig in on things like woke-ism (CRT, Trannies) to flip the culture war back at them in an aggressive way. Be vaxxed yourself (if you want), but stick to your guns that it is a personal decision. Don't be mean or orange. Youngkin has executed the Trump-lite strategy brilliantly. He is even a "never been a politician before" business man type.

Youngkin is what would happen if Trump fucked Mr. Rogers and had a baby.
 
There is a A LOT more energy and enthusiasm around Youngkin than there is McAuliffe. Houses and people who I know a Democrats and will certainly be voting straight D aren't even bothering with their usual yard signs. Meanwhile typically R houses are very willing to bust out the yard signs, while in the recent past did not do so since there was a certain Orange man running for President.

Demographics say McAuliffe should win but even if he does it will be super close and he's destroyed the lead he started with. An R hasn't won a statewide election in VA since 2009.

Attacking the CRT stuff was always a winner. Most didn’t understand it was even a thing this time a year ago. Covid has helped to bring it out as teachers and school boards have been clearly exposed as partisan actors. It was easy to deny its existence. Now that the receipts are coming out expect others to use this strategy.

Trump needs to knock it off. It's like he wants to be able to say his endorsement was the key to a potential Youngkin victory. This is grassroots parents all the way. Youngkin is just the beneficiary. And whoever the GOP nominee is in 2023.

So results will be in by Friday, what time on Wednesday do they start the counting again? After it is stopped on Tuesday night because of the water leak.
