UW offered Mora $4 million/year...

Fuck...this is why we have a Pool Boy as an AD. Mora doesn't give a shit about whether he got $4 or $5 million a year...Pool Boy should have had an extensive report/outline of the other things Mora would have gotten as coach (and would have had input into)...i.e.

- Assistant coach salaries/plans to allow him the best and brightest. Tell him his 2 coordinators will make $1+million, and he won't have to carry a Nansen around 'cause even the low guys will be making $400k instead of $130K.
- Facility plans for the next 10+ years with spending and current options of what that money would go to (with feel-good scenerios that with him as coach and the love the locals have for him addtional money will be generated and going to x, y, and z).
- Expansion of student athlete programs,
etc. etc.

In fact, Pool Boy should already have this...even if it BS...as a sales tool to whatever sucker he's going to try and lure to work for "him" next. If nothing else just to bluff the guy into thinking there is a thought process/plan of success (I'm doubting there is with him), and that as coach of UW he would be able to guide it to insure he does succeed. And to be honest the whole process of going over it with him is the selling...you let the guy start talking about his ideas as you interview him to get him to start picturing himself in that structure and as part of the process. Its basic BSchool concepts of negotiations and sales that seem well above our current Pool Boy's head.

Instead it looks like we got a 30 minute meeting over coffee and an offer of $4 million to come up. Our AD courting process is that he's willing to buy dinner in hopes of getting some, and as a result instead of the hot girl we're going to get either a fat/ugly or a starving one.

I think we could get Major Applewhite for 1/4 what we offered Mora and use the rest to bring back the swim team.

There wasn't a negotiation. There was an offer, and UCLA gave him a new contract. We didn't get a second chance.

Sooooo, we offered him $5 million w/out a contract?

The fuck are you babbling about?

BTfW, you can kick the door in whenever you want if you have the balls to do it.

Mora is probably disappointed his school lacks the will to do so.

Talk about a candidate willing to give a "home town discount."

Twice!

I am embarrassed to be an alumn

The Pac-12, even with the additional $25 million a year from TV still aren't serious about football.

The rumor was Chip wanted $5 million and Oregon wouldn't do it. Embarrassing.

And here I thought Chip wanted out before Emmertt threw down the ban hammer.
