What is deboer worth? 8 mil? Do we think UW is trying to give him 6 and he's forced to be public about the BS offer or is he being unnecessarily cavalier over a few hundred K $ by sounding uncommitted to the media?
Follow the $: Assume KDB keeps it rocking. 6home games, UW puts 10,000 additional asses in seats at $35 per. This equates to $2.1 million. Where does the rest come from?
A little over a year ago Karen was running point on NIL in between dropping recipes and promoting her onlyfans on social media. Heard she was also taking meetings (Lord knows she wasn't rainmaking) alongside Jen with prospective donors.
UWs half share of Big 10 $ will barely cover the additional travel expenses over the next few years.
Absent a whale donor(s), UW can't afford $10M per and a higher asst. pool
Give Ana credit. She's greenlit a raise she'll have to justify to the regents and the state. Doubling the states highest paid employee's salary will generate plenty of blowback from an Inslee-led Reich
How do you get to $35? What are you discounting from the $65-70/ticket average sale price?
Spitballing the marginal revenue UW would receive with a 10+win perennial contender coach. The good seats are taken, then you have reseller fees (SeatGeek/StubHub)
Better bowls = more revenue though that comes with higher expenses.
Haven't even included stadium debt where principal payments kick-in. Refinancing debt at a higher interest rates is another challenge.
Current season ticket holder will get a love bump next year but that will go right out to pay the coaches.
I hate to quibble, but regarding ticket resellers ....
Paciolan is the primary ticket provider. No idea what they are charging on the back end but I would imagine its a lot less than you think, and no where near Ticketmaster.
SeatGeek is an 'official partner' so they are certainly sharing in the revenue from reseller fees. IF they are selling their own inventory, I can promise you the seller-side fees are closer to 5%, maybe less (normal is 15%) a discount offered to large/institutional sellers.
StubHub* is no longer a partner and I can't imagine is sharing revenue. However, they would be a beneficiary of the Large Seller program and a reduced selling-side fee - 5% or less.
No quibble with the rest.
*A lifetime ago I used to participate in the Large Seller program on StubHub
