It sounds like a lot of shit was going down. Tosh actively recruiting guys to follow him, Stein as well I’d imagine. That culture they pretend to have blew up a bit.

I am enjoying the current narrative sweeping across college football that if you just portal in a bunch of BYU age juniors and seniors, along with them having production over potential no matter where they came from b/c Kurt C uses that, is the way to get it done.

That is working for Indiana because they have a 1 of 1 unicorn coach who has the secret formula that is the varsity version of Coach Pete's OKG model.

Yes, but Cignetti would not be having the crazy success he's having w/out getting Cuban onboard.
 
Yes, that is a low ranking but UW does only have 7 positional players and their average rating is much, much higher than 64th. UW currently has 86 on the roster. They will need some more portal attrition, which I think is coming, to add more players and make that ranking look better. Almost every school ahead of UW has 14-45 portal commits. Do any of you want a roster where you’re bringing in 40 new players? The ranking looks bad but a little nuance and context is needed when judging what they’ve done so far.
 
We are going to need to bring in at least 5 new starters every year to get to the top echelon. We signed 25 high schoolers which are eating up the roster spots. It does seem like Fisch doesn’t want to bring in portal players over the young guys from high school if he can avoid that. That will make us perpetually young forever.

Cignetti is gonna ass blast us in Husky Stadium next year.

Sure, but you know if attrition is coming, you jump on the best available rather than wait for a spot to open up just to fill it with whatever's left on the market

I agree. The portal isn’t even closed yet though. I’ll bet there’s a segment of kids that will declare late and take a bag from desperate teams that lost out on earlier sweepstakes. I'll pan the class if it deserves to be in ten more days. Won’t declare this an outright failure until all the chips have been played .

The DL looks like a wash. Lost three pretty solid DT’s and replaced them with some guys I’ve never heard of. Edge looks as below average as last year. CB is gonna be worse. LB should be better with the depth. Overall the defense is probably gonna be about the same, solid but won’t be able to rush the passer and won’t create turnovers or get sacks against good teams.

The offense is worse without Boston and the QB isn’t good enough or smart enough to prop up the young receivers.

8-4 incoming, calling it now. We were only getting to 10-2 with a legit portal WR and a legit edge player.
 
I don't see 5 wins after the cupcakes.
