UW Couch Sales & Purchases (Portal Tracker)

He’s gonna get killed. Get him some help on the line. It’s probably too late though.

I’m momentarily stepping off the Fish train. Constant reminders all year from Jedd himself in pressers after getting ass blasted that UW doesn’t have the horses up from to compete in the B10. On defense you sign a guy who hasn’t been healthy in two years, a guy who couldn’t make any of the All MAC teams nor honorable mention selection and a tweener from your old school. On offense you get an honorable mention all B12 RT and a local guy who couldn’t start on the last good line UW had. That’s it. Then after all the hand wringing all year about the lines he spends the bulk of his NIL on a great CB while simultaneously losing a great CB and a head case WR that everyone seemed to back away from. Now that WR is jettisoned into the ether after 2 days on campus. Bravo Jedd, you’ve suffocated the little Doog spirit that lives inside me.

Yes, color me unimpressed with Jedd's portal run this year as well. WR is particularly concerning. Jedd should be able to sell developing Tetairoa McMillan, Jacob Cowing, getting a huge year from Dorian Singer, getting Denzel Boston to pop this year and nearly 1,000 yards and 10 TDs for Giles Jackson + Demond and Jedd supposedly being good with WRS, yet we are in Jimmy mode of WDWHA at the position and taking literally no one.

Fire him now and avoid the rush later
No one is interested to see if he can win 8 games
He clearly isn't going to turn anything around anytime soon
And his gameday coaching was horrible

He’ll be here for 4 years minimum. It is UW we’re talking about.

And doogs will howl with joy. And excuses.

I had a dream last night that UW lost to Oregon 190 to 70 and Fisch was talking about the program being on the cusp of something great in the next 1-2 seasons with the talent they have in the program.

You knew you were dreaming because a Fisch offense can’t even score half of 70. He seems more likely to find a way to let Oregon score 190.

Sadly we’ll have to L.I.P.O…which is sofa king stupid.
My only small doogie hope rests upon:
a) the assumption that the “cream will rise” to the top of the 15 OL signed in the ‘23-25 classes (was 16, minus Kahlee is 15).
and
b) the health of the DL…(Pepa, Parker twinz, Durrf, Deuce Davis, looking at you 👀) and development of guys like Elinneus, Lynch, Khan, and Bryce Butler.

If these things happen, we can be good. If not, we’ll be in “Seven win Steve” perpetuity.

In fairness, a lot of Oregon's points came after UW cleared the benches down 183-70.

Everything to me points to being in the Sark years. Win around 6-7 games maybe get 8 with a schedule break. Demond feels like he could be the one thing that could change things. We could do more in the next few years if he's legit.
Scheduling and the nature of college football now could help us as well.

Williams isn't going to survive, let alone save UW, with such horrific OL and Fisch asking him to take deep drops then run for his life 40+ times per game.

Certainly appears to be a possibility.

Walla Walla Longhorn just hit me with some Texas bored comedy

From Texas writers.
No. 4 - About Johntay Cook...
With the announcement this weekend that former Texas wide receiver Johntay Cook would be joining the Washington Huskies for the upcoming season through the Portal, I feel like I just have to get something off my chest ...
This is so stupid.
Over the last few years, Cook has made incredible NIL money while waiting for his turn to come at wide receiver. Yet his frustration kicked in at not receiving immediate gratification in playing time, so he burned bridges and decided to leave Austin just as the Arch Manning Experience is on the verge of entering the chat.
Sooooooo ... he could make less NIL money playing in a lesser program with a quarterback situation that is far murkier than the one in Austin. There's hustling backward and then there's whatever in the hell Cook just pulled off in entering a marketplace that didn't value him nearly as much as he values himself.
For my money, Cook is the new poster boy for FAFO on the 40 Acres. The grass isn't always greener. The NIL streets are not always paved with more gold. The quarterback situation isn't always close to being better.
Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut, put your head down and grind away until your time to shine arrives. You don't set your face on fire because your nose is broken.
Texas paid Cook a LOT of NIL money, only for him to be one of the biggest recruiting disasters of the Steve Sarkisian era. Texas was heavily invested in making his situation work. The coaches weren't trying to avoid playing him on purpose in the name of playing less talented players making less NIL money.
Cook has the natural talent to be a star, but he didn't have the work ethic or inner drive to fight through the adversity in a way that would allow him to come out on top. He placed the responsibility for his plight on everyone but himself and the rest of college football told him pretty clearly what it thought of that position.
Now he finds himself in a position where he's almost certainly hoping to have a big enough season in 2025 that he can use it as a platform to transfer a second time to a more high-profile program.
It is a miscalculated, unforced error. It didn't have to happen. It only happened because of Cook's decision-making and actions.
Here's hoping it he figures out that the thing that needs to happen moving forward has everything to do with himself and very little to do with everyone else.
Narrator: "He did not figure out that it was him and not everyone else."

I will say you guys are acting like high school recruits can't play on the oline after a year or two in the program.
They put together a good line at Arizona with worse recruits.

They did. I think the concerning thin is not one of them thought enough of the staff to transfer here when they have had a large budget to get get a position of need.

Outside of Willis I don't think they have landed a decent portal linemen period.

That coupled with the shit line play last year is the concern.
