It's all really stupid. It was stupid of the staff to tell him that. It was stupid of him to make a decision based off of that.
There are more than enough snaps to go around between 5-6 corners. They come off the field all the time. Plus anything the coaches say now is meaningless. The new DC is going to put guys where he wants them and close his own starters. The only way this makes sense is if he's after more money.

Gordon has thrived at nickel too after playing mostly outside at UW. Nickels are one of the rock stars of the defense these days. There's a wide open market for anyone who can do it well. I think Dixon is built for it and plays like one.
The move isn't what I called stupid. It's just stupid if the coaches told him "hey Thad, since we just replaced you outside I hope you don't mind moving to nickel."
 
We? really have no idea if the corches actually told him that, it very well could've been his agent.
