UW had the 3rd highest closing percentage on prospective offers in the 2019 Class at 24.2%. 23 commits off of 95 offers. Only Stanford and UTEP had a higher rates:

2019: 23/95 - 24.2%
2018: 20/86 - 23.3%
2017: 19/106 - 17.9%
2016: 20/129 - 15.5%
2015: 31/136 - 22.8%
2014: 27/153 - 17.6%

2019: 11th Ranked Class - 16 Blue Chips
2018: 13th Ranked Class - 11 Blue Chips
2017: 22nd Ranked Class - 8 Blue Chips
2016: 37th Ranked Class - 5 Blue Chips
2015: 25th Ranked Class - 6 Blue Chips

Pete has gotten more selective, while closing at a higher rate, and getting higher quality players.

Once again, the Pac is so fucked.

These are the kind of great posts that detract from the nonsense here and perhaps a time out is in order for @DoogCourics

It looks like the downturn in 2018 was caused by Jake Browning [/s] the less than steller 15, 16, and 17 classes yet the down year was a Pac 12 title so we have that going for us which is nice

The assumption being that Petersen can actually coach and he now has far greater talent so look the fuck out

Good post

Since most classes are close to the same size, aren't the number of scholarships offered and the closing rate directly correlated?

Yes. Which is why it’s impressive when you keep landing the same size classes but offer substantially less kids, and meanwhile the mean talent has gone up the entire time.

Yep to me the takeaway was the big jump in talent

Winning begets better closing which begets mor winning which begets better closing which begets mor winning.

@DoogCourics is doing the Lord's work around here. I love him. No homo.
