I think it was 2012 when Kim was telling everyone that Sark & Wilcox were recruiting players for a defense built to defend the spread.

From that point, the D did mostly OK against pro-style, power offenses like Stanford but ended up with just the last 4 fingers worth of the plunger handle sticking out Sark's ass.
