US Open Picks

Morikawa.

Brave, brave pick by me.

Definitely a pleasure to tune in and see some of the worst shots I've ever seen on TV. That place looks like the opposite of fun.

See my earlier Morikawa call.

I tuned in and saw him make birdie. Total dick move to make a prediction at that point anyways.

I'll go with the Brit to keep it together around -5 while the field fades.

Rory is still alive even if he can’t hit a wedge

Rahm is my new top choice

Don't trust the kids on top

The course will destroy dreams and embarrass the best

For about an hour yesterday Scottie Scheffler was the greatest. Then he wasn't

Dark horse pick

Sam Burns flies low and posts 4 under and watches the carnage

For a minute there I was thinking Matsuyama at -3 could be the final #. Not happening though. One of the top 3 will finish at -5

-4 is winning score at this point, no more par 5’s and a long par 3.

That was good TV. I haven't been watching golf for at least 10 years. I didn't even know half of the names on the leader board prior to this weekend. I might watch a few more this year.

I did not see Fitz holding on at 6 under. Good effort good job. He won the US Am there in 1913 if you didn't hear

Overnight rain and no wind reduced the carnage but the big names still didn't get it done

Schleffler on Saturday after the eagle at 8 or Sunday with 4 birdies in the first 6 should have been able to put the hammer down. Tiger would have

Scottie is good but not great. Does anyone in this generation get over 4 majors?

*Race was there...

Rory will get another one, but that’s probably it for him. He had a head start, not sure anyone else gets past there though. No one that comes to mind at least. There are more than enough Gary Woodland, Shane Lowry, Molinari types on the tour that can get hot for a week and steal one and no one is surprised when they win. Just no one had a major pre assigned to them. Fitzy falls into that type, though he probably has more staying power than those others. 20 years ago no one thought that Sergio, Rose or Adam Scott would only have one each.

Rory needs a new caddie too. Having your yes man childhood buddy on the bag that no one else would hire is not what he needs. He needs an ass kicker back there. Go throw some money at Greller and he can can win a few more.

Now don’t screw this up by playing it at shitty TPC courses and doing straight stroke play. Limit crowd sizes and go play at cool places and something different in format and I’ll watch.

Cal Club
Pine Valley
Sand Hills
Ballyneal
Seminole
Chambers
Pacific Dunes
Yale

Just filled out year one’s rotation.

If Bryson and Brooks got 150 million they were smart to take it because both are breaking down faster than Tiger did

Tiger was generally healthy from 97 to 08 but still had two or three knee surgeries before he won the US Open on a broken leg. He's been hurt or recovering pretty much ever since. But the 14 majors kept him in the 100 million dollar club a yea whether he played or not

That's not happening for Brooksie or Bryson.

Golf pros tend to have a short shelf life when they aren't juicing and hitting the weights like an NFL player.

LIV at the moment is the Champions Tour for 40 year olds. Even play 54 holes. Even the gals play a lot more 72 hole events

The PGA Tour is responding as needed. The middle class may suffer but ain't that America for you and me
