In an effort to only be a drunk 2-3 days a week vice 7, I have been streaming TV shows/series I have never watched in the basement the last few weeks.

Outlander. 4 episodes. Pretty gay. Cool story, but too much woman shit. Does it ever get better?
Homeland. First 3 seasons. Holy fuck. This actually made me a bit sad I stayed drunk all those years. Great show.
Penny Dreadful. 6 episodes. Has it's moments. Worth sticking with it?
Black Sails. 6 episodes. Thought I would love this. Fucking pirates! So far kind of meh. Get better?

I am all caught up on Walking Dead, Justified, SOA, Game of Thrones and The Americans (5 shows I actually watched religiously during my alcoholism).

Anything I am missing? Any great shows out there I missed completely?

I just finished Fargo and it was awesome. Billy Bob Thornton's character is maybe the baddest tv villain I've ever seen.

I forgot I am up on Vikings. Good chit.

Anyone ever watch Dexter? Any good?

Fargo. I will look into that. Same with The Fall and Bloodline.

Dexter is decent.

Did you watch True Detectives with McConaughey and Harrelson? Thought that was pretty good, too.

If someone said Billy Bob was good in some shit, you'd better check that out - I'm going to. After watching Slingblade, I figure Billy Bob is one of the best in our generation.

The Wire? Sons o' Anarchy? How about 2-3 more nights of ge3tting drunk? I got another one started a while ago.

Dexter is the shit. Some people hate on it and the later season are not quite as good, but I was always entertained watching it. The first four seasons are all really good. It's one of my favorites. @Swaye, you will love Dexter's crazy girlfriends Hannah and Lyla.

The best thing about Dexter and Fargo is that they take off in the first episode. You don't have to sit through boring initial episodes like Breaking Bad. The Wire takes 4 or 5 episodes until you start grasping who everyone is.

I liked Boardwalk Empire a lot, but it was kind of slow sometimes. True Detective was good, but not great.

After you finish The Wire, Rome, Deadwood, The Shield and all but the last two seasons of Dexter, chase away the post-three day bender blues with a few cheerful movies:
Withnail and I
Leaving Las Vegas
Days of Wine and Roses
Smashed
The Lost Weekend

There was a show about Turrists on Showtine about ten years ago. The hero was a black American Muslim CIA guy. I forgot the name of it, but it was really good. Never mind, it's Sleeper Cell. I only saw one season of it, but that was probably 2011. Between Netflix, Hula Hoop, Amazon, Youtube copies etc. more seasons are probably out there.

I have seen all of SoA and Sopranos.

Based on comments so far I will start with Dexter and True Detective. Then maybe Fargo from there. My liver appreciates the input.
