Other than the 1 year of kikaha this coaching staff has never had an elite BUCK that is versatile enough to play in space, stop the run and rush the passer. As amazing as our defense has been under Kwat I think the LBs have definitely been a weakness for us and our lack of an elite pass rusher has held this defense back. If Tryon is that elite guy off the edge then pairing him with Kaho is going to vault this D to another level. We've gotten elite play from our secondary and defensive line which should continue going forward, but the play of the LBs is about to move from solid to elite over the next 2-3 seasons and our defense is going to take the next step.

Linebackers have been good. Just one position was underwhelming. That's the buck. Feeney and Littleton could bring heat from the edge but feeney was playing out of position should have been a situational pass rusher. Azeem RIP and bierra have been good.

BUCK and LBs have been solid. D line and secondary have been elite. Not a knock on any of those guys players like BBK and Psalm wouldn't start for the majority of Pac 12 teams let alone the upper echelon of teams contending for a spot in the playoffs. Other than Shaq I think Littleton has been our best LB under Pete [/b]and I agree that Feeney played out of position(he also played as a true freshman, which he shouldn't have, because fuck Sark).

I appreciate that people started keeping stats. Tackles seems like an obvious one to keep track of, so fine. It's better than NOTHING, I suppose.

However, what the brand new wave of sports analytics is showing us is that while things like 'tackles' were a decent rough draft of the data that we should be looking at, the things we need to be attending to are much more sophisticated.

Statistically Jake Browning last year was a million times better than Tui in his senior year. You would have to be a fucking retarded WSU-level cunt to think that Jake is even anywhere CLOSE to as good of a player as Marques was.

There are going to be ways to differentiate those types of contributions in the future and I'm not aware of any player-level stats that really help us these days...

But the IMPORTANT thing to remember is that stats like TACKLES don't mean fucking shit.

The same argument is made to say Mata'afa is a better player than Vita. lol

BBK isn’t terrible ... but to me on a good team he’s a 2nd team ILB.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable... these are all guys who we could get now (maybe with the exception of Shaq, but Kaho is similarly rated).

Completely agree that we could recruit those types of athletes. To have them all pan out at the simultaneously though is the hard part.

The more you stack the better the odds like you say. It’s hard. Not impossible. USC did it with carrol.

Pettis and Ross couldn't generate space consistently vs bama, therefore our wr's are not good.
