I fail to see a downside to mass deportations, or at the very least, relocating them all to sanctuary cities/states who allegedly will shelter them.

I’m long over optics. Sure, some can maybe stay but get in the very back of the line for citizenship and voting privileges. There is any easy argument to make and Biden pretending he can do nothing about the border while using EOs to pay for student loans through taxpayer money is so blatantly hypocritical all but the @HHusky diehards can see it.
The Downside is the police/surveillance state necessary to achieve it.
