I've got a bad feeling about this. Chris Wallace did a lot to hurt Trump. The leftwing media is salivating to do that again, even harder this time.
Trump doesn't even need these debates -- Biden needs them. So Trump had all the leverage to set terms.
Instead, he let Biden set the terms. Trump will be debating CNN, CBS, and Telemundo more than Biden. They won't let Trump engage with Biden and will answer on behalf of Biden at every turn.
Update:
Reading Trump's Truth Social post, it sounds like he is only agreeing to the time. Where is it that he agrees to the other conditions? Trump clearly says he prefers a large venue (i.e. a big audience).

The only way Biden wins is by more fraud than what was in 2020. Arizona and Georgia were at least 5% fraudulent with the late counting.

My theory, and it's only that, is that the Dems were about to pull the plug on Joe and the Biden Admin then agreed to debates, which makes it even harder for them to replace him with Newsome or whoever. Just my two cents

Could be true. A related theory could be that they are giving him one debate of a leash. If he performs poorly, he's out at convention.

Slightly different take is that it just gives them time and an out if June debate is a dumpster fire to replace him.
And/or time to recover from a poor performance then cancel the later(like they did last time)
