I've been gone from Seattle for 22 years. In that time I've lived in two time zones, three power 5 conference footprints and four states. I've literally never known anyone who went to Seattle on vacation outside of my family who were going back to see family. The only people I've known who even went to Seattle in that time either went on business or spent a day there to catch a cruise to Alaska.

People vacation in New York, Chicago, LA, Frisco, Vegas, DC, Orlando, New Orleans, beach towns, towns with amusement parks, etc.

Seattle is like Philly or Houston or St Louis. There's plenty to do there if you happen to be there but few are choosing it as a vacation destination.
