enough Mountain West players unless they are 1st or 2nd team all conference studs

Eh some wiggle room there. Would our starters have been that level this year? I'm guessing most of the top 10 DTs in the MW are better than Bandesenough Mountain West players unless they are 1st or 2nd team all conference studs

You're not building the core of your playoff team in the portal. Looking for Valdez type guys to rotate in isn't the end of the world"better than bandes" is not a playoff formulaEh some wiggle room there. Would our starters have been that level this year? All things being equal I'd rather have kept DeBoerThe only person saying anything close to this is TeqYeah, fuck DeBoer. He sucks. So glad we got Fisch. The future is so bright!
I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but you are still giving Fisch too much rope. All things being equal I'd rather have kept DeBoerThe only person saying anything close to this is TeqYeah, fuck DeBoer. He sucks. So glad we got Fisch. The future is so bright!
My understanding of the situation was that DeBoer was always looking for the next big thing
I am not a fan of having someone at the top of the program that doesn't want to be here … same with players on the roster
This year ripped off the band-aid of some of the rot from primarily the Lake era of recruiting and to a lesser extent DeBoer's recruiting
Perhaps the slide wouldn't have been as extreme this year had DeBoer stayed … the gaps whether this year or next or whatever likely still remained
I appreciate that Fisch is putting an emphasis on HS recruiting … it was the foundation of the Petersen era and it's how you build winners in college football
I never got the impression that DeBoer was interested in rolling up the sleeves to recruit … it's part of the Alabama appeal for him
Thank you. I couldn't pull the trigger. Also it's "dat".I don’t know about you but I hope we get that Nigajuan.

I'm not holding this roster over on Fisch … he had the shitty Spring portal season when what's available is primarily JAGs and he was left a poo poo platter of a roster. His #1 job this year to me was a strong recruiting class and by all accounts that looks like it is happening. My expectation for next year is somewhere between 8-10 wins depending on how the portal plays out … it's not like it's that hard to find my thoughts on what I think the expectations are heading into a season.I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but you are still giving Fisch too much rope. All things being equal I'd rather have kept DeBoerThe only person saying anything close to this is TeqYeah, fuck DeBoer. I also think DeBoer didn't want to recruit hence Bama made too much sense for him, but there are many universes where DeBoer is still the coach because Saban didn't retire, Jen kept blowing him in his office, Dannen offered him 12 million after beating Oregon the first time, etc. etc.
But if DeBoer was still here, I guarantee we would be ALL in on the portal and shelling out big bucks for great players. DeBoer was a savant with the portal. Which was the point of this thread when I originally made it.
Anywho, that ship sank a while ago.
Hell no. There's zero reason to segregate recruiting talk from whatever this bored is.move this thread mods.
Young whipper-snappers are stuck in the 90's; still haven't recovered from the shock of BLDG 7 falling unexpectedly.Building up through HS recruiting and player development is the right long-term strategy
How come I'm older than dirt yet I understand how the game has changed better than the kids
Park the Model T gramps and look around at how the winners are playing the game
Kids aren't sitting for 2 years to get developed or you develop them and they leave.
Oregon has churned and burned 4 stars to stay relevant year in and year out
This is the NFL now and it stands for not for long if a coach doesn't win now. The good ones always have. The bad ones need more time
We do have our own real world lab here
MODS: Can we move this to the recruiting bored so people can differentiate the two assignments?
Also, fucking hilarious.
