If Togiai actually ends up at OSU, then it is a huge fucking indictment of Malloe as a recruiter.

He had every advantage: Proximity, his parents pulling for UW, a cousin on the team, a far bigger Poly community, recent on the field success, a husky DL about to go top 15 in the draft. And he still couldn't close? It's not going to get any easier than that.

If this holds, and Pete keeps Malloe around, DL is going to become a huge liability in the next few years. SAD!

So it looks like we are going to miss on Tommy T.

Right now the dline class is Draco Bynum, Mosiah Liu, and Taimani with the possibility of Tremblay or someone else being added. Bynum and Taimani both had pretty solid offer sheets so you have to give Malloe a little credit for reeling them in. However once again it looks like he is missing out on the elite level DT targets... He has hit the sweet spot of mediocrity where he isn't quite getting it done but he isn't doing poorly enough that Pete will fire him.

Last year DL recruiting is going to fuck us in 2020. Ali is long term project, probably won’t be ready till 2021. Unless McCoy or scrempos or pulu show us something next year. Gettin tremblay would help some
 
I still think Taimani is a pretty big time get. Not super super elite no, but he's damn good.

We are at the point now where we are competing
with the big boys(Bama, SC, OSU, etc.) for some
elite recruits. All the stuff you mention is true but
will always be trumped by the ultimate sales line,
"Come to us and you can compete for a Championship".
Our recruiters cannot legimately use that pitch yet.
And it's a tough pitch for top level kids to turn down.
