Time to be rational

Most Presidents were either Governors or Senators.

Most head coaches at BCS schools were either head coaches at smaller schools, or they were coordinators at other BCS schools.

How would hiring Nussmeier or Wilcox be different than Oregon hiring Chip or Helfrich?

Chip and Helfrich were groomed to be a beneficial part of a successful system to a higher up in the same successful system. As it stands Helfrich may be the end of Oregon's successful run.

We like to hire OCs from within. The last coach we hired from outside the program was in 1977. And the jury's out on dude number three.

Washington's situation is very different than ours.

We need a HC who has proven that he can do the job, not another coordinator to learn on the job.

Chip is a one in a dozen type guy, as for Helfrich no thanks.
Nussmeier or Wilcox are good candidates, I'd just rather have a proven commodity. Deruyter, Bohl, or Petersen. I don't want another coordinator learning on the job,
We're certainly not in a good spot but we're not as fucked as some here think.

I'm not being a dick - look at the mid-majors for someone with a good coaching tree and who overachieves.

Let Nussy cut his teeth at Wyoming before taking over a P12 regime. Jesus christ Aubie, you can be a serious Dolt.
