That’s what is so weird about this shutdown. Dems are directly responsible for having one of their strongest support bases, federal government workers, out of work and struggling to pay bills.
As the Dem Whip explained, they have “leverage” so it’s OK if people suffer.
This is exactly the cause of almost every level of government now being in debt. They kept spending like the COVID funny money was going to flow forever and those governments (all left-leaning) refuse to make cuts to pre-COVID levels.
As Always government has no economic incentives to cut costs and every incentive to increase them. This is why you don't give them one cent more than you absolutely are forced to.
The SNAP civil war kicks off this weekend. It's been entertaining watching liberals cry about "how is anything supposed to function" while just living a regular life.
