How about the idea that Washington has the qualities to be a destination school so long as the administration continues its newfound commitment to winning and that Seattle doesn't allow the next CHAZ to take root outside of Husky Stadium.

It seems like we're wringing our hands over so many variables when the guy hasn't even coached a game yet.

Napiers buyout is huge. Like 30 million huge. Florida is pretty loaded but not aTm loaded. They have a massive commitment to non revenue sports. They compete at a high level in everything. They have dead money wrapped up in other coaches, the buyout for Napier and the buyout for Fisch may not even be doable for a program like Florida. Something is rotten in The Swamp and no one they bring in can overcome it. Mullen, an Urban disciple, got MSU to 11 wins. That's almost impossible. Napier was seen as a can't miss coach. The build he did at Louisiana was impressive and sustained over a three year period. Both of those coaches have failed or are failing spectacularly. I wouldn't touch Florida, its toxic. I wouldn't expect Fisch to move on for any job for at least three or four years unless he gets UW back to the Semi Finals and at that point it's worth the skin.

I think UW is close to being a destination evidenced by the fact we hired arguably “best available” within 48 hours after losing our coach to the best CF program.

The Florida job will be probably be open before their 11/30/24 game with FSU. They’re not finishing better than 6-6. Whether or not Fisch wants it is the only unknown. Napier is dead HC walking.

It seems like he deliberately went there to try to get on board with Spurrier and work his way up the coaching profession any way he could, not because he has some specific affinity for Florida. He seems like a general ladder climber like DeBoer, not a Florida Guy, per se.
