Thoughts from the weekend...

well, we know how red and yellow the purple and gold Sark instilled in his players was. #FightOn

Good riddance to all the Sark players who don't want to be here. They should sell their couches and LEAVE as soon as possible. The program is better for it.

There is danger to this kind of thinking. Young guys play too early, we suck for longer, etc. I prefer the coaches working to gain the trust of kids and getting them to buy in. Obviously that won't happen with every guy and some attrition is inevitable. Some of it is even positive, but there is a fine line.

Choate has seemed to get Qualls and Mathis, two Sark and Tosh guys, to buy in. Shelton was the poster boy for what this staff can do if you buy in. Lake is another assistant that has seemed to get his guys to buy in (It wasn't going to happen with Peters).

My thoughts on the weekend (really the season) is that we are fucking Cal with a better defense and no quarterback, or Utah with a worse record. Either way Petersen needs to nut the fuck up and prove why it was warranted that we changed out our sweatpants when he was hired in the first place. I'm still a believer, just keep cleaning out those fucking pussies who don't belong in purple and gold and keep bringing in those that do (like Pettis although he kind of dropped off, FO).

I'm not really concerned. Jonathan Smith is not a great play caller, but I can't exactly diagnose what is going on with that right now. If everything is face-value, he should be raped by Brent Pease while Brent Pease is raped by Jaydon Mickens' 2-inches of thunder.

The offense this year was fucking awful.

That said, I think we are committed to building from the ground up.

We shall see.

I'm on the fence about whether we should be mean or nice to Sark's players. I can see arguments both ways. I think, ultimately, they are mentally weak pieces of shit who wouldn't have been able to win any important game this year or any other year... so I think it's good that we are burning the fucking thing to the ground; but at the same time, you don't want a totally toxic environment.

But maybe you do. Either way it'll be interesting, obviously.

I can tell you this, though. I trust Pete a lot fucking more than I do Sark.

Those are my thoughts exactly. I have been of the opinion that if we're going to blame someone for the offensive woes it should be Petersen and not Smith, because I figured it's hard to tell the first year whose fingerprints are on what. And players do a lot of extra thinking during the first year adjustment with a new offensive coordinator.

But on the other hand, the whole offense was so awful to watch. The only real dynamic innovation was to bring Shaq over to play tailback for 2-3 weeks. The lack of feel and creativity with the playcalling was alarming. And these rumors and tidbits about the players not respecting Smith, it's just been a shit show overall.

So for now all we can do is watch Petersen over the next few months and look for signs of more internal change.

One more rumor that I forgot to list is that Jordan PaoPao is unhappy and wants to leave the staff. He was abandoned by Sark and doesn't mesh well with Pete's staff.

The entire offensive staff sounds like a mess...wouldn't have guessed that after the past season or seeing any of those video interviews with Jonathon Smith on the web.

Peterman...you have a large budget. Feel free to use it.

PowPow is a dude brah if there ever was one. Kill 'em all! Kill 'em all!

You are thinking about Jonathon Smith getting by Brent Pease while Jaydon Mickens pounds Pease with his two inches of thunder?

I would have no issues with PaoPao getting axed but I feel like that isn't something Pete would do after only one season. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll leave on his own.

My wet dream scenario is to fire Smith and get a new OC. Firing Paopao is the next best, and probably more likely scenario. It's probably still very unlikely. Let a GA and Pease/Strausser coach the TE's and bring in a new OC. Demote Smith to QB coach.

If they were going to fire coaches I'd think they would have done so already wouldn't they? I never really understood why they kept Paopao, was he just the least dude brah of the old staff?
